The City of Conway began working on a Historic Preservation Plan for the community in the fall of 2019 after receiving a grant from the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program and National Park Service. A Historic Preservation Plan has never been developed for the Conway community. The plan will establish an historic context for understanding the Conway community. It will also help direct and guide the future changes to the city’s development regulations for Conway’s historic neighborhoods and define priorities for projects that promote education and awareness of Conway’s rich historic past. A draft of the plan shall be ready for review by late April 2020.
